The United States Flag



Do you know what our flag stantds for. You should. Chances are pretty good that they will ask you on your board of review. It's really quite simple:
The United States flag has thirteen stripes for the thirteen origanal colenies. A blue field with 50 stars, representing the 50 states. The red in the flag stands for Hardness, and Courage, the white, Purity and Innocence and the blue is for vigilance, perseverance and justice.
A few questions and answers:
Q: Do you have to burn the flag if it touchs the ground?
A: No. But you are required to keep it clean. Washing or dry cleaning the
flag if nessarry.
Q: Can someone, other than a veteran have the flag draped over
their casket?
A: Yes they can, although this hounor is usually reserved for veterans and
national figures.
Q:What does it mean when the flag is not flying above the white
house?
A: When the President is in Washington D.C., the flag can be found above the
White house. The flag is not displayed when the President is out of Washington
D.C.
Q:Is there any penalties, fines, or punishment for disrespect
to the flag.
A:There are none. But groups like Citizens Flag Alliance is working everyday
to amend the constitution to punish flag crimes.
